GEOGRAPHICAL PROCESSES OF A FLOOD
A flood can be formed in few ways, one by when excessive amount of rainfall, that can cause the rivers to over-flood with water and cause that excess water to flood the streets. We are also in the season of La Nina, which is a wet season that affects us from December- February and caused the floods that affect Queensland in 2011. The reason they are so devastating is the reason because they are unexpected and can hit for a long period of time
Excessive rainfall causes a lot of rain to fall and can causes quick and flash flood and the rainfall can cause rivers to over flood and cause the floods to rise and take away houses and kill people. It occurs when extremely heavy precipitation due to intense storms is more than local drainage systems
Dams overflow is when the water overceads the capacity of the dam and its flood walls and rolls down into a trap/valley that has been made for when the water comes out/over floods the dam. Sometimes excess water from the valley can flood some streets.
